Beautiful Brisbane has finally turned up the temperature & we’re enjoying our 30 degree days again. Time to break out the new swim wear & get ready for summer!
This also means, time for me to break out of my comfort zones. You see, never in my life have I worn a two piece swimsuit in front of anyone & my swimmers were always worn with big baggy board shorts to hide my thighs. My standard pool side attire meant being covered from shoulders to knees.
Now, living in QLD under that big hole in the ozone layer means sun safety like this is important, but that wasn’t my reason for covering up. My insecurities were.
But this is the new year of me trying the love & accept the body I’m in, so let’s talk about getting into some swimwear that’s well fitting & makes you feel confident!
Starting with the Anya Tankini & Pant. To be honest, I was mainly drawn to its design because it looks like a one piece & that’s what I’m most comfortable in. But unlike one piece suits, the design has catered to all different shapes, sizes & confidence levels.
Firstly, underwire! For me, there is nothing worse than the feeling of unsupported, sweaty underboob during Summer. This design stops that & gets your big boobies off your belly!
Built into the tankini is a full cup underwire bra, complete with adjustable shoulder straps & 3 rows of hooks/eyes at the back. It is made from Panache’s signature power mesh fabric & keeps its shape when wet. This means you get all the comfort & support of wearing your favourite full cup style bra, while still looking hot in your swimmers & not needing to stress about how you look & feel without underwire.
Next, adjustable length! Hooray for a swimsuit that fits all different length torsos. As you can see in this picture, there are adjustable ties on both sides of this suit. This means you can ruche up the sides to whatever feels most comfortable for you & your height. You can show off your midriff one day & cover up the next, the choice is yours.
I’ve chosen to wear this with the matching patterned pant. I really like that they’ve tried to match the look of the side ruching from the top onto the pants as well. You could easily mistake this as being a one piece suit. The cut of the pant is similar to a standard brief. They sit at a comfortable height & have great coverage.
Great for those days when I’m happy to cover up & hide within my comfort zone.
