Oh Jasmine! You & I are finally together. What a delightful occasion.
I know that Jasmine is a staple of every blogger’s Panache wardrobe & I am ashamed to admit how long it has taken me to finally buy her. But now that we are together, my boobs are in a very happy place.
Every single season I try on Jasmine & love the fit, but always end up buying something with a cuter design or bolder print. This season though, Jasmine was the cream of the crop! Look at that navy blue houndstooth print. How could I resist?!
Yes this print is similar in style to the subtle houndstooth fabric used on Envy, but the way they’ve used it as a bold print it is unlike anything else I’ve seen. It definitely stands out from the crowd & looks amazing on all different bodies & skin tones.
So, what is it about Jasmine’s design which makes her so great?
For me, it combines all of my favourite elements from other designs & turns them into one bra which is genuinely the best thing in my wardrobe right now.
It will come as no surprise to you who have been following me since the beginning, that I have gained a fair amount of weight in the last 12 months, most of which has gone to my boobs. Before the weight gain my absolute favourite “can’t live without” bras were Floris & Kali. I have one for every day of the week. But these bras are quite rigid & don’t have any stretch in the upper sections of the cups, so they do not accommodate for much fluctuation of breast size. That’s when my favourite bra switched to Envy. She is soft, stretchy & accommodating, but doesn’t give that extra firmness in the cups like Floris would.
In comes Jasmine! She is built with a firmness of Floris in the lower sections of the cups, but also has the softness of Envy in the lace upper sections. She is the perfect combo that my body needs right now!
The 3 patterned panels of the cups are made from 2 layers of firm power mesh. This fabric gives ultimate support & the secure feeling I love. It pulls my bust in from the sides & projects it forward, giving a lovely, rounded shape. Then the stretchy lace panel at the top is used gently encase the rest of my bust which would otherwise escape in other designs. It contours to my natural shape, so that regardless of the time of the month, or whether I have lost/gained some fullness in my bust, it will still sit wonderfully against my skin.
As with most Panache bras, the shoulder straps are wide & fully adjustable. The straps have a layer of soft felt which sits softly against the skin & doesn’t irritate, even after 12+ hours of continuous wear.
The band is also pretty plain & standard, again, as all Panache bras are. I’ve read other reviews & fit notes in the past saying Jasmine has run small in the band, but I did not find that to be the case in my experience. For the first few days of wear she was firm, but has since stretched to feel like a perfect size 10 band. I never write reviews immediately after buying a bra for that reason, since they often take a couple of wears before you feel what the fit is truely going to be like.
I decided to mix things up with the knickers & instead of getting the standard brief I opted for the new deep brief, since I’ve never tried them before. The day I went shopping I was feeling self conscious about my weight gain I chose to size up in the briefs, assuming I would need to, but it was completely unnecessary. I’ve only worn them twice because they are just too big. They work well for photos, but in reality the waistband is too loose, there’s a fair amount of empty space in the front & they ride up my butt. An XL would have probably been ideal. But hey, we live & we learn!
I’m absolutely loving Panache’s new #FindYourFit & #FoundMyFit campaigns. It’s such a great reminder that we all need to be fitted regularly & by a professional, regardless of how many bras you own! I went & got fitted again last week, & walked away with even more bras! This time I came home with Penny, which I had never given a second look at (let alone tried on!) since I thought she was a bit boring. But she’s a wonderful fit & a fantastic addition to my collection. I look forward to sharing her with you soon!
